Let the good times roll! The newest addition to the New Orleans riverfront and sister vessel of the Steamboat Natchez, the renovated riverboat City of New Orleans offers unforgettable daily jazz brunch and dinner cruises down the Mississippi River. On the cruise, visitors are offered an inside look at the artists at work on our Mardi Gras tradition. Mardi Gras World, where they build the floats that will eventually make their way down St. Charles Avenue in the grand and opulent Mardi Gras parades, offers a tour that rounds out a uniquely New Orleans experience.
Although the City of New Orleans cruised in the Midwest originally, she was built in Louisiana. Notice her modified fleur de lis patterns in the railings. She was totally renovated in 2019 with unique and priceless etched and stained-glass decorations, three enclosed decks with walkways, rooftop calliope, and sightseeing deck with bar. Even the ceiling tiles are replicas of an old steamboat pattern. She boasts a beautiful red paddlewheel and age-old riverboat touches throughout the interior and exterior.
Food is prepared fresh on board daily by their seasoned culinary staff. Brunch is served seven days a week on the 11:30 am cruise, and includes chicken and sausage gumbo, Creole grillades and grits, a waffle station, Crescent City Eggs, bread pudding, and much more.
On a Jazz Dinner Cruise, savor the age-old power and majesty of the river in a new spirit of adventure. Absorb the sights and sounds of the city by night and imagine a bygone era as you watch the French Quarter come to life while dancing to live Dixieland jazz. Enjoy strolling musicians on every cruise as you dine on a selection of delicious New Orleans classics and cocktails from bars on every deck level.
The nightly dinner cruise features live jazz, incredible cruising views of the Riverfront, and delicacies such as Steamboat Round- an American Kobe roast, Bayou Seafood Pasta with crawfish and shrimp, Creole Creamed Spinach, Bananas Foster, White Chocolate Bread Pudding, and more. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are offered. Enjoy a little romance with your favorite Valentine on this lovely dinner cruise!
Board the riverboat at the Lower Bienville Street Wharf where Bienville Street meets the Mississippi River. Charter, private events, and weddings are available. Reservations are recommended at 504-569-1401.
