March 2: New Orleans Ballet Association presents Les Ballets de Monte Carlo in Lac

Based on Scottish novelist Walter Scott’s The Bride of Lammermoor, the opera traces rival families, thwarted love and unhealthy obsessions in a powerful tale of an innocent woman manipulated by the men in her life.

March 28: Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance
For a quarter of a century, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance has been dazzling audiences across the globe with its unique combination of high-energy Irish dancing, original music, storytelling and sensuality. April 5: Ledisi – The Good Life Tour with Raheem DeVaughn

April 13: Nikki Glaser – The Good Girl Tour
Nikki Glaser is one of the funniest female voices in comedy today. For nearly two decades and as the host of three hit podcasts, Nikki has been honing her shockingly honest, no-holds barred style of comedy. In July 2022, she headlined her first HBO comedy special, Good Clean Filth, which has been nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Special. She is also the host and executive producer of the hit HBO Max reality dating series Fboy Island.

April 20: New Orleans Ballet Association presents Parsons Dance with the Allen Toussaint Orchestra
Hailed by the Toronto Star as “one of the hottest tickets in contemporary dance,” the always-popular Parsons Dance company returns to take your breath away with its brand of joyous, high-voltage dances. The company brings a tailor-made program that includes signature works like Caught, a gravity-defying fusion of art and technology, and Swing Shift, a series of duets and trios. The evening’s special finale will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Parsons’ critically acclaimed work Whirlaway to a soundtrack of Allen Toussaint hits performed live by Reginald Toussaint and The Allen Toussaint Orchestra.

April 24: Bianca Del Rio – Dead Inside Comedy Tour
Everyone’s favorite “clown in a gown,” Bianca Del Rio returns to the stage with a new comedy show, aptly titled Dead Inside. The seasoned comic’s sixth worldwide stand-up comedy tour, Bianca will entertain fans with her iconic lightning-fast wit and razor-sharp tongue. As with all her shows, there will be lots of audience interaction.

May 11–12: Nickelodeon presents Baby Shark’s Big Broadway Tour
Join Baby Shark and his fincredible fishy friends on an undersea adventure filled with oceans of fun and finship! Jam-packed with catchy music, heartwarming characters and tidal waves of laughter, this live interactive show will make fishies of all ages shake their tail fins with delight.

March 13: Friends of Cabildo Film Series presents Louis Armstrong’s Black and Blues
This documentary honors the musician’s legacy as a founding father of jazz. The film shows how Armstrong’s life spans the shift from the Civil War to the civil rights movement, and how he became a lightning rod figure during that turbulent era.

April 24: Friends of Cabildo Film Series presents 1970 Jazz Fest Films
Enjoy the Louisiana State Museum’s collection of seven different 16mm film reels from the first Jazz Fest, which show artists such as Duke Ellington, Pete Fountain, Danny Barker and Mahalia Jackson. Dr. Charles Chamberlain will moderate the event, and the Band-In-A-Pocket Jazz Trio will perform.

March 7: Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra presents Tchaikovsky No. 4
Guest Conductor Kalena Bovell makes her much anticipated debut with the LPO with a program featuring works of two living composers and Tchaikovsky’s marvelous fourth symphony.

March 8: Miss Dee’s Kitchen – The Stage Play

March 16: Pat Metheny – Dream Box Tour
GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and composer Pat Metheny launched a solo tour, which coincides with his new album Dream Box. The tour, a first of its kind for Metheny, will feature personal and fan favorites from his nearly 50-year career.

March 22 and 24: New Orleans Ballet Theatre presents Back to Balanchine
Back to Balanachine features two of George Balanchine’s most famous neoclassical ballets, Concerto Barocco and Serenade. A sweepingly romantic work set to Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Serenade encapsulates the movement of the Balanchine technique, and is easily one of his most beloved works. Concerto Barocco first premiered in 1941, and epitomizes the purity in musical representation characteristic of Balanchine’s work. The performance is dedicated to the complete embodiment and visualization of the music, Bach’s Double Violin Concerto.

March 23: David Spade – Catch Me Inside
Nominated for an Emmy Award for his memorable role as Dennis Finch, the wise-cracking, power-hungry assistant on NBC’s Just Shoot Me, comedian and actor David Spade became a household favorite during his five-year stint as a cast member on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe in 2000 and an American Comedy Award in 1999.

April 4: Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra presents Montgomery, Dvorak, Mendelssohn
Mendelssohn’s final symphony will move you beyond measure. Living American composer Jesse Montgomery’s Strum has become a modern day hit with its careful technique that “begins with fleeting nostalgia and transforms into ecstatic celebration.”

April 12: World Ballet Series presents Swan Lake
Swan Lake, the ballet of all ballets, will be performed for one night only as a part of the World Ballet Series. See the iconic Dance of the Little Swans, count the 32 fouettés performed by Odile, and immerse yourself in Tchaikovsky’s magical music. The critically acclaimed production will feature richly detailed, hand-painted sets, as well as more than 150 radiant costumes that bring fresh representation to this timeless classic.

April 13: Kountry Wayne – The Kings of Hearts Tour
Kountry Wayne (a.k.a. Wayne Colley) has been generating an extraordinary amount of buzz as one of comedy’s most notable rising stars. Since his first viral Facebook post in 2014, Wayne’s career continues to soar, while garnering a loyal fan base. Wayne’s career highlights include being named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” in 2021, starring in the BET original Christmas rom-com Holiday Heartbreak, appearing on MTV’s Wild ‘N Out with Nick Cannon, and releasing his debut EP, Drip & Zay.

April 18: Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra presents Also Sprach Zarathustra
The season begins to sunset with the well-known Sunrise from Strauss’ tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra, the famous music used in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Michael-Thomas Foumai pays homage to the Japanese Anime genre in his 2015 tone-poem Fullmetal, and Verdi’s “fate motif” in the Overture to La forza del destino is one not to be missed.

May 9: Dwight Yoakam – Live in Concert
The California-based singer, songwriter, recording artist, and country music performer is highly regarded and recognized for his distinctive interpretation of the Bakersfield Sound. One of country music’s best-selling artists of the 1980s–1990s, his credits include the 1994 GRAMMY Award-winning recording, Ain’t That Lonely Yet.

May 11–12: New Orleans Ballet Theatre presents Dracula
This all new ballet, inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel, will go into the mind of our protagonist, Jonathan Harker, on his journey to Count Dracula’s castle and his inner reckoning with his own darkness and his love, Mina, who fights to bring him back to the light. Using a mix of musical genres, you’ll be transported into a world of seduction, lust, forbidden desire and our eternal obsession over good versus bad.
