Since the opening of Effervescence in 2017, Executive Chefs Evan Ingram and Brenna Sanders have worked with great enthusiasm to bring their small plates menu from their travels to the charming sparkling wine lounge and restaurant in the French Quarter. A California native, Evan moved to New Orleans after culinary school in New York. He recently officiated his passion for wine with sommelier credentials. Brenna grew up in Alabama and began her professional cooking career after completing her education at Tulane University.
This dynamic duo met and worked at local Restaurant August, where they set their fine-dining cooking foundation and began the rest of their lives together. Seeking to expand their culinary repertoire, they moved to San Francisco to work in highly esteemed Michelin-rated restaurants. They adopted a rigorous, uncompromising approach to sourcing high quality local ingredients. The food menu at Effervescence features casually luxurious bites and sharing plates tailored to pair with sparkling wine. Effervescence proudly features local seafood, produce, wagyu beef, dairy and grains while supporting the local farms and businesses that share their commitment to quality. Co-Executive Chefs Sanders and Ingram showcase these ingredients in a fresh light presentation, incorporating worldly and innovative flavors rooted in classic cuisines. Through their travels, they were especially inspired by the food of coastal Italy (particularly the island of Sardinia, where they were wed), coastal France, Spain, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus and Turkey. They especially love to prepare local Gulf seafood elevated with bright flavors and a meticulous presentation. Their menu can be enjoyed as an afternoon snack, dinner with pairings, late-night dessert or Sunday brunch.
Their sparkling wine list spans the globe, offering a curated list of exceptional bubbles from affordable sparklers to renowned Grande Marque Champagnes. The menu boasts over 200 sparkling wines by the bottle, over 30 sparkling wines by the glass, and six unique sparkling flights that invite guests to explore regions, themes, styles or producers of bubbles.
