Gray Line Celebrates the City’s Tricentennial: Changes Made to French Quarter Walking Tour

New Orleans, LA (February 8, 2018)— 2018—the year we commemorate 300 years of a historic, culturally-rich, resilient and beautiful city. All of New Orleans has been incorporating the tricentennial into their new year and Gray Line will also join ranks with an updated French Quarter Walking Tour. The updates were made to hi-light some of the most intriguing facts about one of America’s oldest living neighborhoods. On our tour, customers will learn the history of the city’s founding by Bienville and the English Turn. Ears will perk up as our animated guides tell tales of pirate lore and the Battle of New Orleans. In addition, Gray Line has acquired access for our customers into the private courtyard of the Spring Fiesta House and St. Anthony’s Garden. Important landmarks, such as Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop, the Ursuline Convent and Beauregard Keyes House, will still be pointed out and discussed. “With the 300th birthday, we feel it is important to refresh our tour,” says Adrienne Thomas, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “The attention given to these stops and new discussion points will only help to enrich our customers’ experience, leaving them with a clear idea of who we are and how important New Orleans was, and still is, to the nation as a whole.” Tricentennial Souvenir Doubloons will be issued on the Tricentennial French Quarter Tour and can be used for discounts at several French Quarter museums. Tour departs at 1pm six days a week and reservations are required. To book reservations, please call 504-569-1401.
