November 20th at 6pm the St. Louis Cathedral is hosting an organ recital by Jean-Baptiste Monnot, organist of the famed Cavaille-Coll organ of the Abbey Church of St. Ouen, Rouen, France. As a concert organist, he performs more than 100 recitals a year throughout France, Australia, Austria, Belgium, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, and the United States. In 2015, Figaro newspaper of Paris named him one of three young organists to watch. He has served as the artistic director of the annual festival Le Printemps des orgues in Mantes-la-Jolie, France. He was previously titular organist of St. Louis des Chartrons of Bordeaux, France and organ professor at the Regional Conservatory of Mantes en Yvelines. In 2010 he managed the creation of the incidental music for Macbeth by Jean Guillou for Kyoto Concert Hall and Nagoya Concert Hall with Masaru Sekine. He served as the 2010-2011 Young Artist in Residence at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis, King of France, in New Orleans. Free and open to the public.
